Students from Skills for Learning, Life and Work 2 recently took part in the Glasgow Goes Green Festival at the University of Glasgow, raising awareness of the environmental impact of fast fashion.
As part of the event, they created handmade notebooks using recycled textiles, giving new life to materials that would otherwise have gone to landfill. They also shared simple, practical ways to reduce clothing waste — from repairing and reusing items to choosing second-hand and sustainable options.
By selling their notebooks, the group raised £80 for TRAID, a charity supporting sustainable fashion and improving conditions for garment workers.
A fantastic effort from our students, showcasing creativity, teamwork and a real commitment to sustainability.
